I look at the whole person. My Goal is to Meet you where you are and help you make sustainable Changes to improve your Health and Life.

My Story

I have been working on improving my health for many years. I have tried almost every diet plan with almost no success. I gained 50 pounds when I had my daughter and it took me 22 years to lose my “pregnancy weight”. I was never able to make the changes necessary to lose the weight. The medication that I take to control my epilepsy- typically causes weight gain. I actually thought it was not possible for me to lose the rest of the weight. But through diet and lifestyle changes I finally lost the weight.

I got out of a very dysfunctional marriage in 2017. After the divorce, self-care became a priority. I began the process of rediscovering me, and finding life balance. I joined a dragon boat team and really got into paddling. I even trained and competed in the world’s longest raft race in Peru in 2019. I learned how to set goals and achieve them.

Mental health is a very important part of health. One cannot achieve their health goals if they don’t address this side of health. I have struggled with depression my whole life. I have been fortunate to be able to manage it with lifestyle changes. I have learned that eating healthy, and exercising are essential to maintaining my mental health. I still face challenges and use techniques like mindfulness to help me manage my mental health. The expression- you are what you eat, really is true! The more good foods I put in my body the better I feel mentally and physically.

During the Pandemic of 2020 I found it necessary to work at Amazon. This is incredibly physically demanding work. My body was not holding up to the strain. I decided to make lifestyle changes to help with the pain and inflammation in my body so that I could continue to work and support myself. My goal was NOT to lose weight. My goal was to improve my health and give me better quality of life. I went on the Amy Myer’s Autoimmune Diet and transformed my life. I not only found the pain and inflammation improving. I lost 30 pounds and found that my mood had also improved.

If someone had told me I would be able to make the lifestyle changes that I have, to improve my health. I would have laughed at them! I am a junk food junky! My favorite food is nachos and I have a HUGE sweet tooth. I know that if I can make these changes anyone can! They just need to be ready for change.

I also know that there is more than one path to good health. I will work with you in helping you improve your health in a system that works for you. I could not have been able to make these changes without the support of others. I am excited to be able to be that support for you.

My Before and After Picture 2002 & 2021

This field is constantly evolving and I make it a point to stay current on information. I continue my education because I am passionate about health and so I can better help my clients.

I believe in an integrated approach to health. This means that to achieve optimal health one needs to take into consideration their entire environment, exercise, eating, stress, support, mindfulness or spiritual practices. It is important to combine allopathic (traditional) and complimentary forms of medicine.
