Meal prep Is Critical For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Meal prep really helps me eat healthy.

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Eating healthy is a important part of managing my illness. This can be tricky, because I often don’t have the energy to prepare food. . When I do cook, I almost always cook a double recipe - so that I have extra. I am a huge fan of soup! I find that if I have the food prepared. I am less likely to order take out.

When I am having a flare from my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - it is great to be able to reach into the freezer and grab a healthy meal. I sometimes get behind on my prepared meals- when this happens, I put together some quick easy meals. I will prepare two things that are similar - a trick for maximizing that precious energy is a quick meal prep. For instance, today I made tuna salad and egg salad. I can quickly go to the fridge and pick one to put over a big bed of lettuce or add to a sandwich or wrap.. If it’s a higher energy day I might prepare something a little more complicated.

I also like to have some frozen cauliflower rice, quinoa or rice in the freezer for those times when I am trying to quickly throw together a meal- and I am having a low energy day. They may be easy to prepare from scratch- but with CFS. it can be a challenge to do the basic things. I am careful on where I choose to exert my energy.

Keep Healthy food on hand and prepare extra for the fridge and freezer- helps to eat healthy especially if you suffer from Chronic Fatigue.

The key is to pace yourself- don’t overdo it. Assess your level of energy and obligations. Determine what you have the energy to do. Meal Prep is helpful- but only if you can do it without causing a flare. Listen to your body.

I recommend making a list of some quick easy meals that you always have ingredients for. Message me to help you put together a list that works for you.
